Lawyers are everywhere, each has her or his own expertise or specialised area in the fields of law that vary from civil, criminal or appellate litigation. Finding however a good lawyer to represent you in your legal battle is like finding a needle in a haystack. Ending up with one who does not have the adequate knowledge and experience in handling cases like yours may cost you a lot of money and waste of time. It may also lose your legal battle not on the merits but due to ineffectiveness of your counsel.  You may then ask how will you be able to find a good lawyer. The following points may help you in your quest:

Take the lawyer referred to you by your trusted friends or relatives who have been also their lawyers in the past. Ask them how the lawyers represented them so you may have an idea how the lawyer performs his or her job. Then talk to that lawyer and ask questions about your case and how she or he will handle it before you make up your mind. It is better if you choose the one who is recommended the most by the majority of your friends and family.

If you are in the business, ask around who would be the lawyer suited to handle your case. Ask your trusted colleagues, partners, your bankers or insurance agents who were in constant contact with lawyers. This way, you can be sure that your legal issues will be properly addressed by an effective attorney.
